Rugby League World Cup 2021

“RLWC2021 takes great care to align with organisations that mirror our values of remaining Bold & Brave and Authentic in the face of adversity. In the 18 months that we worked with Goal Click, they consistently upheld our values as we navigated this groundbreaking project together. For the first time ever, the Men's, Women's and Wheelchair tournaments were staged together and Goal Click enabled us to keep player voice as a unified pillar across all three.

By partnering with Goal Click, we were able to amplify player voices from Papua New Guinea to Jamaica and the Cook Islands to Lebanon; voices that likely have never been given such a global opportunity before. By sharing their rugby league stories through the RLWC2021 x Goal Click project, players were able to play an active role in continuing to raise awareness not only of the sport, but of the meaning it holds to so many communities around the world.

Throughout the process, Goal Click continued to operate with proactivity and professionalism, even through a tournament postponement. Goal Click took the postponement in stride and remained optimistic as he pointed out that it not only gave players more time to tell their story, but that the raw emotions around postponement are now part of that story. We housed the series on a dedicated section of our website, as well as on our social media channels and were thrilled to see the players and their national teams engaging with the content as well.

We showcased the project at our Tournament Launch in Manchester, where more than 200 guests from participating teams, media outlets, and industry leaders walked through the physical exhibition to better understand the importance of rugby league in communities near and far.

RLWC2021 x Goal Click was an incredible legacy project for the tournament as it allows us to truly understand the importance of rugby league as a conduit to change for the better.”
