Qatar Foundation: GOALS
Amid the criticism and debate surrounding the 2022 FIFA World Cup, we rarely heard from people who were living and working in Qatar.
GOALS was a year-long storytelling series that showcased the diverse perspectives of more than 40 women and men from 20 nationalities based in Qatar ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
From students to artists, workers and community football coaches, we identified, briefed and managed our storytellers as they shared their own unique first-person perspectives on football culture in Qatar, community, and life in the year of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
We gave these individuals the chance to develop new storytelling skills through the mediums of analogue and digital photography, written word, audio, and video. We curated all of this content ready for publication, distribution to global media, and exhibition.
The series was one of Qatar Foundation's top performing media campaigns in 2022, creating over 40 pieces of coverage including CNN, The Atheltic and COPA90. The GOALS Exhibition was hosted in Education City for four weeks during the World Cup.
