Bundesliga: Bayer 04 Leverkusen
In a season like no other, Bundesliga partnered with Goal Click to show how ‘close to the fans’ they are through a powerful first-person perspective storytelling series, told from the heart of Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s global fan base.
From Mexico and the USA, to Kuwait and Leverkusen, five fans shared the highs and lows of their journeys, the anticipation of a title race, and the celebration of a first-ever Bundesliga title.
After briefing and guiding each storyteller to capture their story through video, photography and written word, we carefully curated the content into engaging, cohesive narratives. The short films were prepared across five languages (English, German, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese) ready for publication across Bundesliga’s global channels.
Kicking off with a launch film ahead of the climactic weekend of the 23/24 season, the raw and unfiltered passion of Leverkusen fans shone through the content, inspiring new audiences in existing and emerging markets to tune in for the final round of the season’s fixtures, and a historical trophy lift.
Published across Bundesliga and Goal Click social channels, the fan video stories generated 1.2 million views (on Instagram alone). The content produced a further reach of 3 million (Instagram) across key emerging markets LATAM and MENA, driving new audiences to Bundesliga channels.
